Western Backgrounds...MFT New Product Tour

Hello!!!  Ready to shop??  All the new stamps and Die-namics you have been drooling over for the past week are now available in the Brand Spankin' New department on the MFT site! But before you start shopping, the Design Team has more artwork to share with you!  Welcome to the MFT New Product Tour!!  Each of the MFT designers will be spotlighting one of the newly released stamp sets for you tonight - be sure to check Kim's blog for all the links and details.  Leave some love as you hop around because there is blog candy up for grabs! One of the designers is holding the prize, and it is worth $50!!! Now that is a HUGE prize!!! Good luck ;)  On to my projects.

Tonight I am showcasing Western Backgrounds from Lisa Johnson Designs.  I love background stamps and am thrilled that MFT is releasing some!!!  Last month it was Distressed Diamonds and this month Western Backgrounds.  I have three cards to share, and none of them have ANY patterned paper!  Up first is a card with stamping where I normally would have put layers of paper :)

The sketch (retrosketches #32) called for multiple panels behind the main image panel.  Usually I would have matted some patterned paper for those, but for this card I stamped the images from Western Backgrounds.  I positioned a piece of Eclipse masking tape on the right side of a cream panel and stamped the three images from Western Backgrounds in three different colors.  I then matted this on a Hot Fudge panel and machine stitched around the stamped images.  I adhered this panel to a Kraft card base and added a big Kraft button :)  Here is a closer peek at these wonderful backgrounds.

I stamped the horse silhouette from the Howdy stamp set (also from Lisa Johnson Designs) and cut out with a Circle STAX Die-namics from set 1 and mounted on a Hot Fudge circle (Circle STAX Die-namics set 2).  I mounted the matted horse image with foam boosters on a cream panel stitched on a Hot Fudge mat.  The "Howdy" sentiment was stamped on one of the labels from Howdy Frames Die-namics.  Hemp cord was tied around and the sentiment was added with foam squares.  This panel was popped up on a triple layer of foam tape on the card front to accomodate that big button.  Here is a close-up.

On the inside of this card, I stamped a strip of the denim background and another sentiment from the Howdy stamp set.

My next card is a patriotic card - perfect for a guy - featuring Western Backgrounds.

I used Red Hot, Nightshift Blue, and Whip Cream cardstock.  The layout is a previous Mojo Monday sketch (#255).  I used Outdoor Denim ink (CTMH) to stamp the denim background on Nightshift Blue and the wood siding pattern on Whip Cream.  The border was cut with the new Western Star Border Duo Die-namics.  A sentiment from Well Worn Greetings was stamped on a Designer Label 1.  The two stars from the Howdy stamp set were stamped in second generation Outdoor Denim.  I used the Country Charms Die-namics to cut the badge from some thin metal I had in my stash and secured it with a silver brad.

My next card is a feminine card using Whip Cream and Bubblegum cardstock.

I stamped the animal print background in Baby Pink (CTMH) ink on Whip Cream cardstock and cut a Fishtail Flag from it.  This layout is another old Mojo Monday sketch (#256).  I used a combination of the original Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and the newly released Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics to create the two flags on this card.  I stamped the boots from Howdy on an Oval STAX, and stamped a sentiment over the boots.  The Flourish is the smaller Framing Flourishes Die-namics die cut, and I put one of the little bows cut using the Support Hope Die-namics on top.  Here is a close-up.

A soft piece of burlap finished off this card.  Here are the Die-namics I used for these cards.

And a look at the Western Background Stamp Set from Lisa Johnson Designs.

Click over to the MFT blog to see the list of designers participating tonight. Don't forget there is blog candy up for grabs! One of the designers is holding the prize, and it is worth a $50 gift voucher!!! Now that is a sweet incentive to leave some love for the Design Team because you never know who is holding the prize!! Have a fantastic night!! Happy Shopping!
