Hello!!! Welcome to the September edition of My Favorite Things' Creative Challenge. This month the Design Team was challenged to create a project with NO patterned paper! Gasp! I know, crazy! I really enjoyed this challenge, and as it turns out it was pretty easy for me. I do love to use patterned paper, but I also love getting back to basics with simple color combinations and good old fashioned stamping. I have created two baby cards to share today.
First up is a card for a baby girl using two sets from Lisa Johnson Designs - Circus Spectacular & Distressed Diamonds, as well as Baby Onesie.
I stamped the smallest Distressed Diamonds image on a Pink Lemonade panel in second generation Blush ink (CTMH) for a subtle effect. The animals from Circus Spectacular were stamped in Blush ink on a Whip Cream panel and adhered behind a Peek-a-Boo Trio in Kraft. A sentiment from Baby Onesie was stamped in French Roast ink (Amuse) on a Designer Labels 2 STAX die cut.
For a simple embellishment, I threaded two Kraft buttons with hemp cord from the MFT Boutique. The Peek-a-Boo Trio and sentiment label are mounted on foam tape at two different heights. {ETA: I forgot to mention this card layout is from Retro Sketches #29.}
Here is a peek at the interior.
I stamped more Distressed Diamonds on the cut outs from the Peek-a-Boo Trio for a quick and easy decoration. A sentiment from Baby Onesie stamped on another Designer Labels 2 STAX die cut finishes the interior off.
Now a card fit for a baby boy :)
I used Sno Cone cardstock paired with some buttercream cardstock for this soft card. The largest Jumbo Fishtail Flags STAX in Sno Cone was stamped with the largest Distressed Diamonds pattern in Bermuda ink (Amuse). A sentiment from Baby Onesie was stamped in Bermuda ink on a buttercream Baby Onesie Die-namics die cut. I added a few bitty brads to the "snaps" on the onesie.
Here is another look straight on. I had a hard time capturing the softness of the buttercream with my camera set up. I used some ric rac and Whip Cream buttons threaded with hemp cord for a simple topper on the large Fishtail Flag.
Here is the interior - very simply decorated. A sentiment from Baby Onesie was stamped on a Circle STAX Die-namics set 1 die cut.
Here are the Die-namics I used for these two cards.
I hope you saw something you liked :) Thanks so much for stopping by! Remember to check Kim's blog for the complete list of

Sweet baby cards. At this rate, you should never run out. :) Okay, unless your family is like mine, in which case you need at least one card a month. LOL

These are so cute....beautiful designs. I have worked for the Print VIP cards company and these designs inspire me so much. I would like to try once to design like these, if you don't mind. I appreciate this.
