Bookmark Duo...MFT New Product Tour

Hello!!! Ready to shop??  All the new stamps and Die-namics you have been drooling over for the past week are now available in the Brand Spankin' New department on the MFT site! But before you start shopping (if you didn't already - lol) the Design Team has more artwork to share with you! Welcome to the MFT New Product Tour!! Each of the MFT designers will be spotlighting one of the newly released stamp sets for you tonight - be sure to check Kim's blog for all the links and details. Get your comments in because there is blog candy up for grabs! One of the designers is holding the blog candy prize, and it is worth $50!!!  Now that is a HUGE prize!!!  Good luck ;)

I am spotlighting the new Bookmark Duo Die-namics & Stamp Set.  I love this set - I see lots of fun bookmarks for my son and his classmates in my future :)  And the sentiments are perfect to create cards for a book themed gift/ gift card!  I have created a fun way to present a gift card and some bookmarks tonight.  Here you go.

On the left is a pouch I made to hold five bookmarks and it has a pocket for a gift card, as well.  The card could stand alone or accompany the pouch.  I will start with the pouch.  Here is a closer look.

I used some Brown Kraft 12"x12" cardstock I had in my stash - the finished size is 6-1/2" x 3-1/4".  I used the Pinking Edge Die-namics to create edge details reminiscient of a brown paper sack.  The Double Dot Border makes for a fun background over some patterned paper.  The sentiment from the Bookmark Duo Stamp Set was stampe in Versafine onyx black on Whip Cream cardstock and matted on Black Licorice cardstock.  The ribbon is Lemon Drop.  Here is a look at a gift card inserted into the front pocket (I only had Starbucks, no book store cards!).

Now I will give you a peek at the bookmarks I made using the Bookmark Duo Die-namics & Stamp Set.  I used both sizes of the Die-namics to create bookmarks (you can also layer the two together).  I cut one bookmark from Whip Cream cardstock and another from patterned paper to give a bit more durability.

I just love these sentiments!!  All the stamps I used are part of this set.  I kept the bookmarks nice and flat so they wouldn't damage the spines of any books :)

I couldn't resist adding some fun fibers to one bookmark threaded through an eyelet.  Here is the final bookmark with a closer look at the Pinking Edge detail on the pouch.

Now onto the card.  I used the Deconstructed Sketch #63 for the layout and most of the same elements as the bookmark pouch.

The sentiment was stamped on Whip Cream cardstock with Versafine ink and matted on Black Licorice cardstock and Brown Kraft.  I added a Retro Squares border to the bottom and then covered it up with the open book image stamped on the smallest Designer Labels 4 STAX :)

I also tucked an arrow cut using the Lead the Way Die-namics behind the sentiment and a width of Lemon Drop grosgrain ribbon.  Here is the interior.

I kept it simple with lots of stitching and a Double Dot Border.  Here are the Die-namics I used for these projects.

Click over to the MFT blog to see the list of designers participating tonight. Don't forget there is blog candy up for grabs! One of the designers is holding the blog candy prize, and it is worth $50!!! Now that is a  sweet incentive to leave some love for the Design Team because you never know who is holding the prize!! Have a fantastic night!! Happy Shopping!
