MFT Creative Challenge - For the Guys

For my Ribbon Carousel post, please scroll down or click here - Thanks :)

MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, the theme is "Masculine cards".  Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have cards just for the guys today!

When I think of masculine cards, I think of basic patterns (or just cardstock), minimal embellishments, a simple layout.  I avoid frills, bows, bling, pink (at least for my DH).  Here is what I came up with for some special guy :)

Nothing says guy more than plaid and blue jeans, don't you think?  I used Well Worn Greetings with the Campfire paper from October Afternoon.  I used the Postage Edge die-namics to cut some denim from my son's old jeans for the horizontal panel which I stitched to the card base.  I stamped one of the fabric patterns from the stamp set, a frame, and the sentiment on the oval die cut in various ink colors.  I kept the layout simple and just added some Stacking Stars and a button for embellishments.  Here is the inside stamped with some more images from Well Worn Greetings.

Here are the die-namics I used today.

I hope you enjoyed my guy card today - thank you for stopping by.  Remember to check Kim's blog for the full list of designers participating today.  Have a great day!

Debbie, that's such a fun idea to use denim right on the card... better than just throwing them out!
