For my background "quilt" I cut 1-1/4" squares of two patterned papers. Prior to gluing, I arranged them in my desired pattern to be sure everything lined up neatly, and then I glued them to my Kraft base. I stamped the letters on the Mix & Match banners cut from patterned paper. TIP: When I have a pattern I want to keep straight on my die cuts, I line up the die on my paper and use removable tape to hold the die-namics in place while I run it through my die cutting machine. I added a couple eyelets to the tops of each banner and threaded some hemp cord through. A sweet bow at each end finishes my banner. The embellishment cluster on the card front was made using a variety of die-namics. I cut a new Rolled Scallop Flower from a vintage dictionary page to make a sweet little flower. The leaves were cut with the Upsy Daisy die-namics from felt. The heart was cut from cardstock with the Hearts a Plenty die-namics. The pennant is part of the new Mini Wavy Pennants die-namics with a stamped sentiment from the Notched Tag stamp set. I cut two flag poles using the Mini Pennant die-namics, one from chipboard and one from Kraft cardstock. I applied liquid glue to the chipboard flag pole and sandwiched the pennant in between the two for a secure hold. Here is a close-up and the inside of the card, too.
Look at that adorable new die-namics - Paper Dolls border!! Love it! I stamped a second sentiment directly on my cardstock. I will show you how I line up my letters perfectly every time.
I use the grid on my self healing cutting mat to line up and space my letters evenly. You could also use grid paper or simply a line drawn on paper. Position the stamps with the side you will be applying ink to face down :)
Once I am happy with the spacing and straightness, I pick the stamps up by pressing my clear block onto them. Do this evenly and firmly so no letters shift.
Here they are on my block, all ready for ink.
I always stamp first on scrap paper to be sure everything looks right (and I spelled the word correctly - lol!). At this point, you can make slight adjustments right on your block if need be. This method works great for the titles of scrapbook pages, too :)
Sorry for such a long post for a single card!!! Just thought I would share a couple tips with you :)
Here are the die-namics I used on this card.
