May Flowers....MFT Creative Challenge

Hello!  Welcome to May's Creative Challenge for My Favorite Things.  Each month, the Design Team is challenged to use a certain theme, product or technique.  This month's theme is April Showers bring May Flowers.  Check the MFT blog for all the designers providing you with floral goodness today.

I created two cards for this challenge.  First I used Lisa Johnson Designs Peaceful Wildflowers for this card.

I really love how this card came out - I think because it is a color scheme I rarely use :)  I started by stamping some Sweet Tooth cardstock with the wildflower images from Peaceful Wildflowers.  The inks I used are Pink Lemonade as well as Gumdrop Green and Grape Jelly both in second generation.  The Grapesicle piece on the bottom was stamped with a pattern from Darling Dots in white pigment ink.  The Grape Jelly scallop border is the smallest of the new Dotted Scallop Border Trio Die-namics.  The pattern on the Grapesicle Heirloom Label was made using the Large Chevron Stripes stencil and some white ink spray.

The "hi" from the Happy Hellos Die-namics was cut from Steel Grey cardstock and adhered using my Quickie glue pen.  The wildflowers were cut from Sweet Tooth using the coordinating Wildflowers Die-namics and stamped in Grape Jelly, Pink Lemonade, and Gumdrop Green.  I added a sweet tooth button to my bouquet.  Here is a look at the interior of the card.

I used a strip of paper that I had experimented on for the stamping on the card front.  The sentiment from Peaceful Wildflowers was stamped on Grape Jelly.  Here are the products from the MFT Boutique I used for this card.

My next card uses Mona Pendleton Designs Dandelion Wishes with a similar color scheme as my first card.

This time I added some Natural cardstock to the mix.  I used the Graduated Dots Stencil with white acrylic paint to create the background on the Natural cardstock.  With the exception of the Dandelion and fishtail flag, all the pieces on this card were cut using the Blueprints 3 Die-namics.  I also followed one of the provided sketches substituting the sentiment flag for the flower in the sketch.  On the Grapesicle arched label, I stamped the dandelion image in Versamark and heat embossed in white.  The stem was stamped in Gumdrop Green on the Sweet Tooth pierced circle.  I stamped the flower on Sweet Tooth cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed in gold before cutting out with the coordinated Dandelion Stems & Toppers Die-namics.

A sentiment from Lisa Johnson Designs Cheerful Blessings was stamped in Grape Jelly ink.  Here is a look at the inside of this card.

Another sentiment from Cheerful Blessings was stamped in gold ink and the little heart in Grape Jelly ink.  I also stamped a Grapesicle piece with one of the dandelion images in Grape Jelly ink.  Here are all the MFT products I used for this card.

Thanks so  much for stopping by!  Don't forget to head over to the MFT blog for all the designers who took up the flowery challenge.  Have a great day!

Many Blessings...Mojo Monday #294

Hello!!  Hope you all had a great weekend :)  As usual, it was a busy weekend in our house - busy is good though!  We have a brand new sketch for you to try out this week on the Mojo Monday blog.  I needed a First Communion card for my friend's daughter so I used the sketch to create this card.

The Curvy Cross Plain Jane and a sentiment from Purely Sentimental (both from Verve Stamps) fit perfectly on a Stitched Rectangle mat (Lil Inker).  The cross was stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink and the sentiment in Brilliance Graphite Black.  The cardstock colors are Sweet Tooth and Bubblegum from My Favorite Things.  Here is this week's sketch.

Here are links to all the products I used for my card.

Remember to link up your creation at the Mojo Monday blog and check out what the rest of the design team has to inspire you (links below)! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
