Mojo Monday...Welcome March!

Hello!  Is it really March???  Yikes, I can't believe it!  Since it is the first Monday of the month, there is a contest this week over at the Mojo Monday blog.  Play along, link up your creation, and you'll have a chance to win a stamp set from Verve Stamps!  I am still trying hard to finish my 2014 Project Life album (and it is really, really close to being d.o.n.e.) so I whipped up another weekly title card.  (The good news is you will soon not have to see any of these because I am doing digital Project Life for 2015.)

I used the Fine Chevron Background stamp from My Favorite Things, some dye inks, and my new favorite tool - the MISTI to create a multi colored background.  I have to say if you haven't checked out the MISTI, please do :)  Watch the videos - it will explain it far better than I can.  I'm not getting paid or anything, but it is seriously AWESOME!  You can stamp and re-stamp until you get a perfect image with no issues at all.  It comes in really handy with these large rubber background stamps!  With creative masking, creating multi colored backgrounds will be so easy, not to mention getting perfect straight images every. single.time.  I definitely need to play with it some more!!!  I used post-it tape to mask off an area for the green background.  I removed a strip of it and masked off the green stamped area before stamping the blue area.  Love how it came out!

For my title, I stamped my smaller "week" Bossy Joscie one word stamp on white card stock and cut out using the Pierced Circle STAX from MFT.  The numbers were cut using the Bottom Line Numbers and Symbols from MFT (which must be retired, as I can't find it on their site).  I finished the card off with four quick punches of my corner rounder.  Here is this week's sketch.

Have fun with it.  Link up your creation.  Check out the other Mojo Makers for more inspiration, too!

Mojo Monday...Project Life catch up

Hello!!!  It is time for another great sketch from Mojo Monday.  It is the last Monday of the month, so it is Tall & Skinny week.  I opted to create a 4" x 6" title card for week 31 of my 2014 Project Life album.  Here is the card I made using Project Life core kits (I think Clementine and Honey).

A very simple card :)  I purchased some 4x6 Project Life pre-printed ledger cards and think I will use these a ton!  I used one as my base and stamped the dates using a Heidi Swapp rotary date stamp. The letters are just stickers - which are fantastic for quick pocket page layouts.  The other elements on the card are or were cut from 3x4 journaling cards.  Here is this week's sketch.

Here is my week 31 page in it's entirety - simple & quick - just how I like it lately :)

Snow Much Fun...Mojo Monday #385

Hello!!  Happy Monday!  It is school vacation week here and apparently "bury us in more snow week" :/  No lie, the snow banks along our driveway are much taller than 64" (that's me.).  Ugh.  I was on a retreat with great friends this past weekend during the latest storm and did some scrapbooking!  It has been way too long since I actually completed a 12x12 layout as opposed to Project Life.  I also modified this week's Mojo Monday sketch for my layout.  I realized how much I missed it.  The photos aren't great as they were taken near a window in the hotel with minimal editing on my iPhone!

This is the left hand page.  Here is a closer look at the title area.

And here is the right hand page.

I used the sketch for the left page and modified the diagonal element to be a straight horizontal element :)  I linked most of the supplies in the supply list at the end of this post.  The paper is the Snow Haven paper packet from CTMH.  Embellishments are also from CTMH.  The dies I used are a combination of Taylored Expressions and MFT.  Here is this week's sketch.

I hope you have fun with it! Don't forget to link up your creation at the Mojo Monday blog. Be sure to check out all the fabulous creations from the other Mojo Makers, too!

Mojo Monday & Project Life catch up

Hello!!  It has been a crazy couple weeks here!!!  We have had so. much. snow.  It is ridiculous!  Today is our 5th snow day out of 10 school days :(  Yikes!!  Needless to say, I've been busy shoveling and entertaining kiddos and exhausted from the aforementioned activities.  I did pull out my Project Life album Saturday though to finish another page from 2014.  Here is the title card that I created using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I used my custom stamp from Bossy Joscie again for the "week" along with the Max Alphabet from My Favorite Things.  I combined words from a couple Winnie & Walter sets for the "so many awesome memories" phrase.  The Star Background (MFT) was stamped in Clover Meadow (retired CTMH color).  The sparkly black strip is Shimmer Trim from CTMH.  The star was cut using the Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics.  Here is the page in full.

I just used a couple more Die-namics (Big Numbers, Accent It - Celebrate) and the Notebook Background stamp for the 3x4 cards. Here is this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I hope you have fun with it!  Don't forget to link up your creation at the Mojo Monday blog.  Be sure to check out all the fabulous creations from the other Mojo Makers, too!

Simply Wonderful...Mojo Monday #381

Hello!  It's that time again :)  A brand new Mojo Monday sketch is up on the blog this morning.  Here is my take on this week's sketch.

I used the same Stampin' Up paper pad I've used previously (gotta love the clearance corner!) paired with a die from Taylored Expressions (Pockets & Pages - 3x4 Banner) and a sentiment from Close to My Heart (You're the Bomb).

I popped the banner up on foam boosters over some silver shimmer trim from CTMH.  I used a double width of the shimmer trim here.  I just love this stuff - it is self adhesive and available in lots of colors.  Here is this week's sketch.  I modified the shapes a bit :)  Have fun with it!

Don't forget to link up your creations at the Mojo Monday blog.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

Mojo Monday #380

Hello!  Happy Monday :)  I had a nice weekend, and am so happy that I got all my 2014 photos ordered :)  I can't wait to get them and get them in my Project Life.  I am going to stay caught up this year.  Really.  I am.  Probably.  Hopefully.  HA!  Anyways, here is another catch up card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  Sorry if I am boring you with these ;)

I haven't been photographing my completed layouts because to be perfectly honest, they aren't great!  My photos are all pretty bad -with my phone and just ho-hum.  BUT I am totally okay with that because it is our life documented in an album.  My kids love looking through them.  They don't care if the pictures aren't composed perfectly or mom looks AWFUL or the picture isn't in focus.  So, trying to let go of perfection in favor of documenting is working :)  I used a Pebbles 6x6 pad that I bought beginning of last year to use specifically for Project Life because I loved the patterns and colors.  The numbers were cut using the By the Numbers Die-namics set from MFT.  And my new favorite goodie is the custom "week" stamp I had made by Bossy Joscie!!!  I searched high and low for something like this and finally asked Joscelyn if she could make one.  Voila, not one but two stamps later and I am in LOVE!!!  I may need to order in another font.  You can check out her One Word stamps HERE.

Here is this week's sketch.

So Totally Awesome...Mojo Monday #379

Hello!  Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2015 on this old blog :)  This year I will celebrate 5 years of blogging!?  Wow - can't believe how fast the past five years has gone by.  We are kicking off 2015 with a brand new fantastic Mojo Monday sketch.  In catch up mode with my Project Life 2014, so I made another 4x6 card to add to my album along with last week's card.

I used the same Stampin' Up clearance paper stack as last week, but this time paired it with a brand new stamp set from Close to My Heart.  The set is called You're the Bomb and I love it for cards, Project life, and regular scrapbook pages.  I stamped the sentiment and arrows in Graphite Brilliance Black ink and the little hearts in Electric Red ink.  The glitter tape is also from CTMH.  The background of the card was stamped in Natural ink with the Grid Background from MFT.  The cute little tab was something that has been floating around my desk for. a. long. time.

I made it using a couple Die-namics from MFT - the little hearts from Blueprints 11 and the File Tab Die-namics.  Here is this week's sketch.

Be sure to visit the Mojo Makers blogs for more inspiration - links are in my sidebar.  Remember to link up your creation at the Mojo Monday blog.  It is the first week of the month, so that means it is your opportunity to win a Verve Stamps set!  Hope your year gets off to an inky start ;)  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Smile...Mojo Monday #378

Hello!!!  Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, or whatever you may have celebrated this month!  I'm thrilled to say that all the Christmas cards I made this year were in fact given to someone!!  It is the last Monday of December (and the last in 2014!!?), so that means it is Tall & Skinny week at Mojo Monday.  Here is my card using this week's awesome sketch.

Excuse the not so great photo.  It was rainy here today, so I had to take the photo at my front door instead of outside.  I rotated this week's sketch and decided to use the opportunity to make a 4" x 6" card for my Project Life album.  The papers are from a paper stack that was on clearance at Stampin' Up - absolutely love this color palette and couldn't resist buying it :)  The fabulous die cut is from Taylored Expressions - part of the Pockets & Pages - Circle Words die set - LOVE this set.  I also stamped the background using the Grid Background stamp from MFT.  Here is this week's sketch.

Have fun with it!  Be sure to visit the Mojo Makers blogs for more inspiration - links are in my sidebar.  Remember to link up your creation at the Mojo Monday blog.  Hope you all have a happy and safe time celebrating the beginning of 2015!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Curtain Call Christmas

Hello!  Happy Sunday!  A rare weekend post for me, but I got a hankering to make a card the other night.  I saw the inpsiration photo on Marisa's blog for this week's Curtain Call Challenge and knew I had to play along because I love everything candy cane :)

Here is my card.

I used some My Mind's Eye paper that reminds me of a candy cane for the front of the card base.  The snowflakes are from the Snowflake Splendor stamp set from MFT.  The sentiment is a combination of words from Very Merry and Wreaths of Joy (Taylored Expressions).  The layout for this card is last week's CAS(E) this Sketch.  After stamping and cutting the snowflakes, I coated them with clear Wink of Stella.  Here is a close-up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

Supplies:

Stamps:  LJD Snowflake Splendor (MFT), Very Merry, Wreaths of Joy (TE)
Papers: Winter Wonderland 6x6 pad (MME), Smooth White (MFT)
Inks:  Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko), Crystal Blue (CTMH)
