A Very Happy Birthday...Mojo Monday #363

Hello!  It finally feels like Fall here!!!  Soccer has started, the temperature has cooled a little, and school is in full swing!!  I had a little bit of time this weekend to work ahead on the next few weeks Mojo Monday sketches.  I broke out my stencils and used them in the simplest (and my favorite) manner - Distress inks and an ink blending tool!

All the stencils I used are from MFT and the sentiment is from Delicious Birthday (also from MFT).  For the base I used Pumice stone Distress ink with the Swiss Dots stencil on Grout Gray and Steel Grey card stocks.  The small checkerboard stencil was used with Picked Raspberry Distress ink on Razzle Berry card stock.  And with the Stargaze stencil I used Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, & Seedless Preserves Distress ink on Smooth White card stock.  I have to tell you that using the mini ink blending tool, inks, & stencils is by far my favorite way to create a quick background!  It is nearly 100% fool-proof as long as you tape your paper in place and your stencil on top so nothing shifts :)  So easy!  Here is a close-up.

I'm also linking this card up with the Simon Says challenge this week - Make Your Own Background.  I hope you find some time to play with the sketch this week!!!  This is one of my favorite sketches in a little while :)  Here is sketch #363!

Apple of my Eye...Mojo Monday #361

Hello :) Things have been quiet around my blog as summer winds down - soaking up the last days with my kids and sending them back to school!  My older boys had their first day of school last week - first and fourth grades!!!  And my baby girl starts kindergarten tomorrow!!!  It is a new era in our house.  Although it is very bitter sweet, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it a little bit :)  My immediate plans are to have a clean house (at least for a few hours a day) and get our teeny tiny closets organized.

Anyways, you aren't here to listen to me ramble on!  It is time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch.  Without further adieu, here is my card using this week's sketch.

In honor of back to school time, I pulled out the Red Delicious Die-namics from MFT and paired it with a sentiment from Fruity Friends (Taylored Expressions).  I also pulled out a couple of background stamps from MFT in lieu of using patterned paper.  Here is this week's sketch.

I hope you find some time to play with this sketch this week because it is the first sketch of September - contest time!!!   Don't forget to link your creation up at the Mojo Monday blog for your chance to win a Verve Stamps set of your choice.  Be sure to check out the other Mojo Makers blogs for loads of inspiration. Blow Me Away...Mojo Monday #359

Hello!  Happy Monday!  It is time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch :)  Here is my card for this week.

I made kind of a fun & simple card.  The image is from a retired CTMH stamp set, Under the Sea.  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Snow White card stock, colored with Copics, and cut out using the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics.  I added some liquid glass to the bubbles.  I used the Waves stencil on the Sno Cone card stock with Sno Cone ink.  Here's a close-up.

Here is this week's sketch.
